Causes:
– Excessive ink transparency;
– Excessive ink viscosity reduction;
– Plugged anilox roll;
– Worn anilox roll;
Solutions:
– Reformulate for optimum opacity level;
– Replace or add fresh ink;
– Clean anilox roll;
– Replace anilox roll;
Striations on a two roll system can be eliminated with a doctor blade.
